Question: What is the current time in RPG?
Answer: We are in the year 2369. It somewere in Season 6 of TNG and the start of Season 1 Deep Space Nine

Question: We stick to canon? But this ship aint canon!

Answer: You are right. Its a fictive ship, and we write the story about it, but all events in this time should be canon. So theres no Enterprise-E yet, or stuff like that. We try not to interfere with Events from the show. The Alpha Quadrant is big enough so theres a lot to go around with. Sure we will write about places from the series, but we have to keep in mind, not to create scenarios, as example: The Klingons attacking Bajor or stuff. We need to stay close with canon.

Question: Something happend in my Real-Life. But I plan to come back some day, what can I do? Will I loose my position?

Answer: Yes & No. First of all, I want to integrate such RL_events into the RPG, so if you are certain you cant come back, its the best your character dies. Probably heroic, so we can talk about it on later episodes. Or you might leave the ship for awhile, if you plan to come back later probably. You can do it like Dr. Crusher.
But have in mind, its very hard for all of us, to put you back into your old position, once you left. But we will find a way

Question: How do I play anyway?

Answer: We use the Episode Forum for playing. The RPG goes along in Episode Style, as we know it from the show, but you can add details to your character and though a background in the other Forums (e.g Personal Logs) to describe your character and his behavior a bit. So its easier to interact with each other

Question: I am a Helm Officer right now. But I want to be Chief Medical Officer now, because the spot just got vacant

Answer: Well yes... This is a difficult situation. Because this is no RPG Group, but more some Fan Series, its most likely you have to stick with your position, once you choosen it. Radical changes in Departments are nearly impossible for our Story. We make an exclusion if you deliver a good reason for it, and a sub-story within the RPG, how this could happend, but it needs to be good, and of course the way it is meant to be, should be logical!
Though youc an raise in your own department. As example, the Chief of Science transfers to another ship, or dies or whatever happens in the RPG. If you are the next in the line you move up. This is possible.
