U.S.S. Minnesota en route Starbase 11

QUOTE (Ships Log)
Ships Log, Stardate 46791.8, Commander Carter recording;

The Minnesota is en route to Starbase 11 for her yearly check-up. Also we will recieve additional personell from the starbase.

Finally. The days with a skeleton crew aboard are over. Starfleet managed it to get me a crew complement together. It was about time. Its been two years since the Borg almost wiped out the whole fleet. Well we havent had much problems within theese two years, since Starfleet sended us out to a backwater assignment near the Taurus Dust Cloud. We ve completed the deep-space-task Starfleet gave us.

Our database is packed with data of this region. Not that this mission was quite interesting, but I am really looking forward to get home now. The current crew needs vacation. Most of them worked for two.

I must admit, I am always hoping to get a few weeks off, but we will see what Starfleet has prepared for us

Data - May 20, 2009 02:01 PM (GMT)
Starbase 11, Random Corridor

The Lieutenant Commanders, Data and Jack Bauer were both assigned to the USS Minnesota at the same time since they had come onto Starbase 11 from the USS Enterprise-D in the first place. Jack was supposed to return to the Enterprise after finishing his task on the Minnesota, as was Data. Right now, they walked to the main personnel transporter room of the starbase and had some small-talk.

Data: "Commander, do you think that the ancient race really existed?"
Bauer: "You mean the ones who spreaded seventeen genetic code samples all over the universe and crated a program to activate a hologram of one member to speak to the one who manages to collect all seventeen samples?"
Data: "Exactly those ones, yes. Do you think there is such an ancient race, being responsible for all humanoid life in the Alpha Quadrant and therefore making it possible to have many species look like human bodies?"
Bauer: "Interesting that you're the one posing such questions, Data." *grins*
Data: "You know that my main goal is to fully understand humanity. This might take me another step closer to that goal."
Bauer: "All right, umm, I think it was some sort of fake program, probably created by someone who wants to see complete peace in the Alpha Quadrant. Honestly, I think it was a good idea to make such a program, but as you can see now, it hasn't really brought anything positive."
Data: *nods slowly* "I agree. Except the fact that we've seen Cardassians, Klingons, Romulans and humans all on one and the same spot on a small "M Class" planet's surface." *arches both eyebrows*
Bauer: *laughs* "Yeah, must have looked weird to the humans who were on that planet right then."
Data: "Unfortunately, I was on the Enterprise during that mission and not with the away team."
Bauer: *notices the transporter room door* "Ah, there we are. All right then, let's go to the Minnesota and have some fun."
Data: "I ... guess so." *follows Bauer into the transporter room*

USS Minnesota, Deck 1, Bridge

After Data and Jack Bauer had been beamed over to the Minnesota, Jack first went to his guest quarters while Data directly headed to the bridge. He wanted to report his presence to the commanding officer of this ship, Commander Cris Carter. He had studied the senior staff manifest while waiting in the turbolift that brought him to the bridge deck. Data had a brief look around and couldn't find Cmdr. Carter on the bridge. Maybe he is in his ready room, like Captain Picard often likes to be as well, Data 'thought' silently. Therefore, he decided to ring the ready room's door chime, awaiting an answer from the commanding officer.

Ready Room, U.S.S. Minnesota

Carter sat behind his table - reading the latest reports - when the door chime suddenly rang. He looked up and wondered who would possibly pay him a visit right now. He sighed and remained a second, then he decided to let the person, whoever was on the opposite side of the ready room door, in.

Carter: "Come"

Suddenly the door opened and Lieutenant Commander Data walked into the room. Carter looked up, and seemed to be surprised.

Carter: "Mr. Data! Welcome aboard the Minnesota. Have a seat, please. I didn't expect you to arrive here so soon"
Data: "I thought it might be useful to lend a hand while processing repairs"

Carter stretched his uniform and leaned back into his chair. He smiled at Data and remained silent for a moment.

Carter: "Very well. Now that you are here, I may introduce you to our main problems aboard."

Carter grabbed a padd from the table and gave it to Data. Quickly - just as expected - the android scrolled over it and paused a moment. "Intriguing." the gold-uniformed commander said and raised an eyebrow.

Data: "It seems like your EPS conduits and your ODN networks are not working correctly"
Carter "We are facing that problem since the last time when we had docked at another starbase. Something went wrong after the last procedure, but you can't run a ship without a proper chief engineer who knows what to do."

Carter sighed and stood up to walk towards the ready room's window. Data seemed to be puzzled. He remained silent for a second, but then he looked up to the red-uniformed commander who was already standing in front of the window, monitoring the starbase traffic.

Data: "I find it hard to understand that a starship like this - at least it is a Nebula class stasrship - does not have a chief engineer aboard."
Carter: "Not every starship in the Federation is well-manned at this time. A few of them, like mine, are in lack of senior staff."

After finishing the last sentence, Carter turned back to his table and sat down. Data was still a bit puzzled. He processed the last things Cmdr. Carter had just mentioned and tried to find a good explantation for all of it. However, his research seemed to reach a sudden dead end. Carter continued

Carter: "No offense, Commander, but you serve on the Enterprise. Probably you don't know what happens in the backwater of the Federation."

Lt. Cmdr. Data paused for a few seconds before he eventually replied to Cmdr. Carter's words

Data: "If my remark has offended you in any kind, that was not my intention. I indeed was not aware of the personnel lack on less important ships, however I think that all ships are somehow important, just in other sectors of our territory. Every ship with a deep space mission covers a certain area of space. I personally do not think that the Enterprise is more valuable than the Minnesota. I do not know if that makes you feel better about the situation, Sir, but that is how I see the situation."
Carter: "I suppose it does. Thank you for your open opinion on this. At least someone who appears to share my neutral view of things when it comes to Federation politics."

Carter paused for a moment, checked his padd and then gave the Enterprise's chief operations officer an order

Carter: "Mr. Data, I'd like you to observe all the procedures in main engineering, if you wish you can also work on the bridge with the engineering supervisory control panel. It's up to you. That'd be all for now, thanks ... dismissed."

Data nodded friendly and left Carter's room.

Cris Carter - May 20, 2009 02:13 PM (GMT)
Deck 1, Ready Room

Carter just gazed at Data when he left his ready room. Maybe its good to have him aboard, Cris thought and stood up. Just in that second his door chime chirped again.

Carter: "Come"

Carter said and seemed to be a bit annoyed. Suddenly, the door opened and a mid-aged red-uniformed lieutenant commander entered. Carter turned around to see who it was.

Bauer: "Greetings, Commander. I am Lieutenant Commander Jack Bauer from Starfleet Intelligence. I assume you have been informed about my arrival and my temporary assignment though."
Carter: "Uhm, ah yes, sure. Welcome aboard, Commander."

Bauer looked at the confused commanding officer

Bauer: "You haven't ..."
Carter: "Honestly not..."

Carter pointed to the seat on the opposite side of his table. Bauer nodded and sat down. Then, Carter strolled over to the replicator and ordered a hot coffee with extra milk. "Want something too?" Bauer just denied the offer with a brief raise of his right hand. Carter returned to the table and finally sat down to place his cup of coffee on the table.

Carter: "Starfleet doesen't inform me so well about changes to my ship actually. Starfleet seems to be embarassed about changing everything these days without informing anyone."

Carter sighed. Bauer decided not to give a reply and looked silently at the depressed commanding officer. Carter noticed that and appeared to be more puzzled now.

Carter: "Is this some sort of secret operation or something?"
Bauer: "No there is no secret operation on schedule right now. Actually, I have been assigned to the Minnesota, together with Commander Data, to help you sorting out the delicate situation aboard, So our assignment will just be temporarily"

Bauer said and placed a padd on the table. Carter grabbed the padd and scrolled through it.

Carter: "Mission advisor ... do we need one? I think we could need a chief engineer much more",
Bauer: Orders are orders.
Carter: Very well then...
Bauer: I will get a quick impression of the ship now.

Then Bauer stood up and left the Ready Room

Carter: Mission Advisor...

Data - May 20, 2009 02:25 PM (GMT)
Deck 22, Engineering

Data walked down the corridor towards main engineering. Then, he turned left and headed for the center table of engineering. The warp core was humming slowly. The Minnesota's engineering section appeared to be a bit smaller than the Enterprise's one. Data looked around and tried to spot the engineer in charge. To Data's confusion, main engineering was empty. No usual place to be left empty. He raised an eyebrow and strolled over to the warp core to take a short look at it's configuration that also looked slightly different to the Enterprise's warp core.
user posted image
After processing some comparisons between the Minnesota and the Enterprise-D, Data turned around and headed towards the engineering main controls. He tapped a few buttons and scrolled over the last protocols. As usaual, he processed the data quickly and finally finished up his work on the main controls.

Engineer: "What are you doing there?"

Data turned around and looked towards the core. A young engineer was looking down to Data from the upper deck.
user posted image
Data: "Excuse me. I was unaware of any personal working here. When I entered engineering, it was empty."

The young engineer used the small lift to travel down from the upper deck. While doing that, he examined Data and tried to look sharp. It seemed that he hasn't recognized Data yet and that he was standing in front of a superior officer, but Data looked calm and neutral as always.

Data: "I am sorry. I have not introduced myself. I am Lieutenant Commander Data from..."

But Data was interrupted by the young engineer who had suddnely changed his sharp look to a saluting one.

Engineer: "I am sorry, Sir, I didnt know..." the young engineer began to Data: "It is alright, Mister..."

said Data and stumbled across that 'mister'. The young engineer didn't hesitate to introduce himself.

Engineer: "I am Ensign Jacobs, Sir."

He said and looked at Data with much more respect than before. Data took a second look around engineering to spot more eventually hidden crew members. But this time, there were none, so he turned back to Ensign Jacobs. Still a bit confused, he asked the ensign a question

Data: "So, you are the only officer working here? Where is the person in charge?"
Jacobs: "Actually ... I am ... in command down here."
Data: "Oh, I did not know that. Very well then, let us get back to work. From what I have read, there is a lot to do here."

Ensign Jacobs just nodded at Data and walked over to the main engineering table to start working together with the superior android officer.

Robertson - May 22, 2009 08:55 AM (GMT)
-Crew Quarters - USS Soval - Docked at starbase 11 -

[i]A young man sat on his bed, a series of duffel bags lined up next to him, he breifly picked up a padd, checked something, tapped a button and placed it back down, the door then chimed, the man stood up and breifly tripped over a book that was lying on the floor

"Ah. Damn. Come in!"

The doors moved apart with their familiar hiss, a woman, around 5"8 stood in the doorway, the man stood still for a moment before bolting upright

"Captain! I wasn't aware you were visiting..."

"At ease Ensign... Were both of duty"

The young man visibly relaxed

"Sorry about the mess captain... I'm trying to pack everything at once and... Well it isn't exactly going to plan, but please, come in... If you can"

The woman laughed and stepped over a few objects into his quarters

"So, i hear your transfering to the Minnesota"

"Yes maam, Nebula class..."

The woman smiled slightly

"Ensign, i must admit, i lied when i said i was off duty, i'm here on official business"

"Captain?"

"Congratulations, Lieutenant Robertson"

Robertson stood still for a moment before stammering out his reply

"Uhrm, ah, thankyou captain"

"No, thankyou Mr. Robertson, you've been a credit to this ship and crew, you deserve it"

The woman somehow found a path through the mess and opened a black box, she took out a small gold pip from it and affixed it to Robertson's neck.

"You leave at 16:00 correct"

"Y.. Yes maam"

"Understood, it's been a pleasure... Lieutenant"

"The pleasures been mine captain..."

The woman smiled, turned and left Robertson's quarters.

- 16:00 - Deck 2 - USS Soval -

The turbolift faded to a halt, and the doors hissed open, Robertson smiled at the sight infront of him... The ships crew stood lined on each side of the corridor, he walked forward, smiling at the familiar faces. The senior staff stood in the transporter room at the end of the corridor, the captain behind the transporter control panel, each of the senior staff shook his hand, Hermandez tapped her commbadge

:hail: "Soval to Minnesota, we are preparing to transport your new tactical officer"

:hail: "Understood Soval, were ready over here, transport when ready"

Robertson stepped up onto the platform, smiling one more time, he spoke

"Energise"

Robertson's body then dematerialized in the transporter beam.

Deck 8, Executive Officers Quarters

Smith exits the near by turbolift and she walks down the corridor looking for the Executive Officers Quarters.

A crewman standed nearby doing routine maintenance on a panel

Smith: "Crewman, where is the Executive Officer's quarters?"

Vulcan Crewman: "Ah, Commander. The executive officer's quarters are 2 corridors away, go down this corridor to the end then take a left turn then another left, your quarters are down that corridor. To my memory the Executive Officer's quarters are on the right and 3rd door."

Smith: "Thank-you"

Smith walked down the corridors and took a left then another left turn. She walked down the corridor and found the door that said 'Executive Officer' on it she entered her security code and entered

She placed all her bags on her bed and left to go to the bridge

Clark: "James, well how the hell have you been?"
James: " I have been great I have just been assigned to the USS Minnesota as and Engineer"
Clark: "Really, I have also been assigned to the Minny as the Chief Operations Officer."
James: " Ops? why ops? You were one of the top engineers in our class. Everyone expected you to be the Chief Engineer in no time.:
Clark: "An engineering career could only get me so far, as an ops officer I will have the opportunity to pursue a command career path. We better go over to the ship now"
James: " Yeah we better, it will be werid seeing you up there on the bridge..."

Clark and James headed toward the ship to get settled into their quarters and report in. Along the way the continued to get caught back up.

Cris Carter - May 22, 2009 08:16 PM (GMT)
Deck 6, Transporter Room

The commanding officer just entered the transporter room, but no transporter chief was actually there. He sighed and strolled over to the transporter panel, tapped a few buttons and activated the auto-transport sequence. Then, he stepped on the transporter platform.

Carter: thinks "Everything has to be done by myself on this ship. Godddamit!"

He waited for the auto-sequence to activate. Just in that very moment, the transporter activated and transported Carter over to the starbase.

Main Transporter Room, Starbase 11

Carter re-materialized in the main transporter room which was actually manned. He stepped down from the transporter platform and nodded at the transporter chief.

Chief: "Welcome aboard Starbase 11, Commander", the transporter chief Carter: "Thank you",

He replied and then he headed straight for the exit. While walking through the big hallways of Starbase 11, a few officers nodded at him. The starbase appeared huge to him. He tried to spend only as much time on a starbase as necessary. He loved to be on a starship. But a few formalities had to be discussed on starbases. A fact Cris couldn't avoid.

He spotted a turbolift that recently arrived, and entered it. A young ensign was inside, she faced Carter directly. Then, the turbolift started moving as both ordered their locations. A short moment of silence, then the young ensign tried to start a conversation with Carter.
user posted image
Ensign: "Welcome to the starbase, Commander",

The young ensign said and looked at Carter, urgently awaiting a response. Carter just stood sharp and replied nothing. He didn't even look at the young ensign.

Ensign "I am Ensign"

But suddenly she paused and looked a bit sad, remaining silent. The turbolift opened and the young ensign walked out.

McKenzie: "I am Ensign McKenzie. It was nice to meet you."

Then she walked down the hallway.

Carter: "It was a pleasure to meet ... you."

The turbolift doors closed and the lift continued to move.

Department Offices, Starbase 11

The turbolift stopped on Deck 3 and the doors opened. Carter noticed this deck wasn't as crowded as some other decks. He took a step forward and stood still for a moment to look around. The deck appeared to be huge, it was wide open. Larger than most corridors. He walked over to a console and activated it.

Carter:"Computer, I need the location of the starbase commander's office."

Just a few seconds later, a chart of the current deck appeared and showed him the location of the office he desired to go to. He deactivated the console and headed straight for the CO's office.

CO's Office, Starbase 11

Carter was standing infront of the CO's office doors and pressed the doorchime. Just a moment later, someone from inside responded. Carter didn't hesitate and walked into the office. The office itself was decorated with only a few personal things. Nothing really important. It seemed that the captain wasn't so long aboard yet, or about to leave the station soon. Whatever, Carter thought and walked towards the table were the starbase CO was sitting, reading a few padds.

Wright: "Have a seat Mr. Carter"

Catain Wright said and pointed to one of the two empty seats, without looking up. Carter took the left chair and sat down. Captain Wright was still scrolling around a few PADD's. Carter coughed and layed his PADD's down onto the table surface.

Carter: "Our latest reports ... Sir"
Wright: "Very well... I see."

Wright scrolled quickly through the reports, then he layed them back down.
user posted image
Wright: "I understand your situaton, and I understand that Starfleet is now behind ships without a proper captain."
Carter: "And?"
Wright: "It is to my understanding that you are lacking of capable officers at the moment"
Carter: "Yes, we have a skeleton crew. The most 'senior' officers are ensigns without proper experience. Should I go on?"

Carter looked at Captain Wright after posing his open question to him. The starbase CO laid back in his chair and thought about his next reply

Wright: "I understand that. Well, Starbase 11 isn't able to offer you any officers neither. We need them all here. However ... we have some quite capable young officers. I could order their transfer to the Minnesota immediately".

Wright handed over a padd with a list of all available starfleet personnel aboard Starbase 11 to Carter who grabbed it and sighed

Carter: "Even more children."
Wright: "'Children' with lots of experience and knowledge, you know?"

Wright replied drily while standing up. He headed for the replicator. Carter just finished reading the PADD.

Carter: "I guess it's better than nothing, isn't it?"
Wright: "Actually it is. I can assure you, these officers will become the finest in Starfleet. They served under my command",

Wright replied and smiled at Carter who grabbed the offered cup and made a thankful gesture, then he took a sip.

Robertson materialized on the transporter pad, and as the familiar hum of the system powering down faded he looked around at his first glance of the ship that soon would be his home, it had conventional LCARS compared to the Soval's outdated 23rd century ones, the walls were grey instead of a dark white, marked with battle damage and as he breathed in the air was a lot less... Homely.

Robertson took into account that there was no transporter operator present, and realized that the call authorizing his transfer must of been from the bridge. He walked out into the corridor of the Nebula class starship and quickly realized that he hadn't studied the floor plans thoroughly enough, as a young crewman passed he decided to take the opportunity to avoid getting... Lost.
"Excuse me" The crewmans head turned to face him, he looked young, not to mention un-rested, his uniform was un-pressed and his boots were dull... Robertson put this down to the fact that the Minnesota's crew hadn't had much r&r in recent months "Yes?" the tone in the crewman's voice was insolent, Robertson frowned taking note of the lack of 'sir' at the end of his reply before responding "Could you direct me to the turbolift crewman" after a deliberate emphasis of his rank the crewman seemed to finally wake up "Uhrm, yes, of course... Sir" Robertson took note of the fact the crewman, even after prompting had to force out what protocol dictated was polite. "right this way..."

Robertson followed the crewman through a few corridors until they finally arrived at the turbolift. "Right, which deck contains the senior officers quarters" The crewman paused and stood still for a moment, the information obviously processing through his brain "Deck 7" the crewman briefly hesitated again before adding "Sir" Robertson sighed inwardly "Whats your name Crewman?" the crewman turned to face him again and looked him in the eye as he spoke "Crewman Tapping. Sir" Robertson bit his lower lip "Right then, Crewman Tapping, next time i see you, i want to see your uniform pressed to regulation standard, and i want to see my reflection in your boots, is that understood?" the crewman's eyes widened and he shifted slightly in discomfort "A..Aye sir" Robertson smiled smugly "I'm glad we understand each other, thank you for your assistance" Robertson turned his back and stepped into the turbolift.

"Deck seven, senior officers quarters" As Robertson finished his command, the doors hissed closed and the turbolift hummed to life.

Caroline McKenzie - May 23, 2009 07:33 PM (GMT)
Astrometrics, Starbase 11

Caroline entered main astrometrics. She headed for her console and logged in. "Computer, start console. Logging in for Gamma shift, McKenzie Theta 4". The computer accepted the login and Caroline started to work. Her job was to catalogue the latest received data from science ships and to add them to the star charts. Her shiftmate was assigned to monitor the ship movements within this sector.

It was an obviously normal day. Nothing really strange or important happend. "Bah! I hate staring at those moving ships performing standard delivering routines or patrols", Lt. JG. Sigurd Petterson muttered and layed back in his chair, stretching hisself. "If it makes you feel better, same here ... but this is our job. If you perefer action, you should have joined the Marine Corps or the security department", Caroline replied drily and continued monitoring her station while the latest data from the starship 'Phoenix' was streaming in.
user posted image
Petterson smirked and looked over to Caroline. "If I desired that, I would have joined them, obviously", Petterson said and grinned. Caroline stopped working for a second and and rolled her eyes while looking towards Petterson. "But you didn't, so don't complain now." Petterson laughed and replied: "I ain't complaining, I just wanted to point out that we have a really boring job here. We could have done better." He tapped a few buttons on his console. Suddenly, the image on his screen changed and showed another part of this sector. "Better?" Caroline asked and looked confused. She added: "What could we have done better, especially we!?" Caro tried not to look too possed. Petterson began spinning circles with his chair and itches his head. "Hmm, let me think." And suddenly, in the very moment, his console beeped.

Petterson appeared to be stunned by the sudden beeping. "What is it?" Caroline asked and walked over to Petterson who was still stunned by the beeping sound. He turned back to his console and tapped a few buttons, then he answered: "I am not sure. Some strange readings from sector quadrant 071." He continued tapping on his console and accessed a few logs and magnified the images of this quadrant.

"It's gone." Petterson said and seemed to be confused about this. Caroline was standing right behind him and was looking over the last readings that the computer had recorded. She sat down at the console next to Petterson's one and started an analysis of what might have occurred. While the computer was running the analysis, Caroline looked at Petterson. "What do you think?" she asked and looked back at her console. Petterson remained silent for a second. "Nothing. It was nothing", he replied. But Caroline didn't believe it was nothing. She constantly looked at her console, waiting for the computer delivering the results of the analysis.

The computer eventually confirmed with a beeping sound and showed the results of the analysis. "That's odd. There was a Theta band burst in sector quadrant 071 that triggered a small interruption within our sector arrays", Caroline said and looked confused. "And? Theta band bursts occur quite often", replied Petterson and tried to wash away Caroline's fantasies about whatever might have occured there, but Caroline couldn't let go, so she started running a few more diagnostics.

"What is the purpose of that?" Petterson asked and looked annoyed at Caroline, but she completely ignored him while she continued her research about what might have happened. Petterson decided to leave her alone, and left the hall. When he had reached the doors, he turned around and told her: "I am off to the sensor pods to run a few diagnostics." Caro replied: "So, you think it was a malfunction that caused the link interruption?" Petterson just smirked and said: "Indeed. I don't just think it, I know it." With those words, Petterson eventually left.

Deck 7, Senior Officers Quarters

The turbolift doors hissed open. Robertson walked out into the corridor, he noted as he walked that this ship was a lot more metallic in comparison to the Soval, he briefly brought the deck schematics to the fore-front of his mind and subconsciously started muttering "Left, right, left at intermix junction 12... 2nd door on the right" much to the confusion of the passing crew members. Having remembered the correct path, after a short time he arrived in front of a door, a door inscribed with 'Senior Tactical Officers Quarters' Robertson at this moment made a mental note to make sure that his name was inscribed in the correct spot before the Minnesota launched. Without further delay he gave his authorization code to the computer so that it would unlock the doors "Computer, unseal the Senior Tactical Officers quarters, authorization Robertson pie alpha 427" the computers feminine voice responded shortly after and the doors slid apart.

Deck 7, Quarter of Lt. Robertson

Robertson walked into the room, it was spacious... Certainly more so than his quarters on the Soval, on the table near the sofa in the corner were his three duffel bags, he heard a faint meow from the bedroom and realized that his cat had been transported over, he headed over to the replicator. "Computer, replicate feline supplement 87, as well as a dish of warm milk" the bowl and dish materialized into existence, and as they did Robertson picked them up and took them through to the bedroom, noting that the bed his black cat was on was a double one, he placed them on the floor. The cat quickly hopped off the bed and proceeded to lap up the milk before starting on the food. Robertson walked back through to the 'main' part of his quarters and called out to the computer.
"Computer, is the captain aboard" it replied with "Negative" Robertson sighed to himself and began to unpack.

Caroline was still busy with her research on this event. Could it be something urgent? she thought. She wondered why Petterson took so long to run a diagnostic series on the sensor pods. Everything was so confusing. Then she thought back, shortly before the event happened. Petterson's behaviour changed immediately, something she never noticed from him before. She couldn't ignore that something WAS going on actually. However, as much effort she put into her research, she couldn't get any better information material. "The logfiles are corrupted", Caroline said to herself and tried to retrieve them. Something or someone really doesn't want me sticking my nose into this, Caroline thought and continued decrypting the log file.

ACCESS DENIED

Caroline just choked a moment, then she slowly sat back down in her chair. Access denied ... how come ... she thought again, then she suddenly stood up and headed for the sensor pods in the secondary hull.

Sensor Pods, Starbase 11

Caroline exited the turbolift and looked around. The corridors in the secondary hull were darker than the other ones on the starbase. Suddenly, she spotted the sensor pod maintenance and walked carefully towards the entrance. It appeared this part of the station was rarely visited, just for the monthly routine check-up. She stepped in front of the entrance and hit the panel. The door suddenly opened and showed a surprised Lt. JG. Petterson behind it.

"What are you doing here?" Petterson barked. Caroline decided to stay cool and walked into the room to risk a closer look of what Petterson was actually doing here. She replied: "Looks like you are busy down here... with wiping out the latest recordings, eh?" Petterson stood there, stunned for a moment, and Caroline noticed it. It appeared she accidentially stumbled upon something going on on this starbase.

"I havent wiped out anything!" Petterson said with some stuttering. Caroline just slowly walked around the room and spotted a few open panels and things plugged into them. "What's the purpose of this ... running analysis? Or are you downloading data and wiping it out after the procedure?" Caroline asked harsh. Petterson sweated a bit. "You don't know nothing about all this ... don't stick your nose into things you don't understand!" Petterson shouted and tried to finish his 'work'.

Caroline decided to monitor him closely and strolled over to a console that has been opened recently. "Leave it just as it is!" shouted Petterson, running over to Caroline and grabbing her arm. "Or what?!" Caroline barked back. A few moments passed as both were looking each other straight in the eye. "I said you won't understand!" he replied, sweating more and more. "We don't have time for this anymore, Jay!" It was a rough voice from the upper level of the maintance room that had just sounded up. Both Caroline and Petterson turned around, and then Jay took a step aside. Before Caroline could see who was talking from above, she was struck down by a phaser beam!

Robertson - May 24, 2009 12:03 PM (GMT)
-Deck Seven - Senior Tactical Officers Quarters -

Robertson adjusted the position of his laptop computer on his desk, and picked up the padd lying next to it which contained his orders and references, a padd that he had to give to the commander when he came back aboard. Robertson walk out of his quarters, back along the corridors and into the turbolift, "Deck One, Bridge" the turbolift doors closed and it hummed to life once again.

- Deck One - Main Bridge -

The turbolift came to a halt, the doors opened and Robertson looked at, for the first time, his new workplace, the bridge design was like the galaxy class' and as such, his console was embedded into a wooden beam which curved upward from the command chair part of the deck, he moved over to the console and relieved the ensign that was standing there, deciding that the logical place to wait for the commander was the bridge, and that he might as well familiarize himself with the console while he was waiting.

Guest Quarters, U.S.S. Minnesota

Since Lt. Cmdr. Bauer knew so many people on the list Cris had sent to him, he tried to contact some of his old colleagues. However, when he contacted Caroline McKenzie, there was nobody answering the hail. Jack always had a certain stomach feeling when he was about to encounter a problem. Now, Jack's stomach feeling grew quite strong when Caroline didn't answer. She was a very by-the-book officer and was known to him for working hard. Not answering a hail was not her type of behavior, not even off-duty. She would at least have an automaticly generated answer active if she wouldn't want to answer a call. Let's find out what's wrong, Jack decided silently and left his quarters.

Information Desk (Docking Area), Starbase 11

Jack headed for the information desk office and asked the receptionist if everything was going alright on the starbase. The female receptionist nodded without hesitation and assured Jack that everything was okay so far and nothing had been reported to her. Jack nodded briefly and thanked her for the information. He had taken a phaser with him from the Minnesota before entering the starbase's docking area. He had holstered it on the right side of his uniform.

Second Science Laboratories Deck (Near Sensor Pod Room), Starbase 11

Lt. Cmdr. Bauer had just asked the computer when he was in the turbolift, where the communicator of Ensign McKenzie was sending it's last signal when being connected to her uniform. Jack knew that the signal of a communicator altered it's frequency once it was removed from the magnet behind a uniform, so he wanted to make sure if it was removed already or not.

It turned out that it was indeed removed, since the computer indicated two different signal frequencies. And that was exactly what Jack wanted to know, so he headed for the sensor pod room, since that was the latest location where Ensign McKenzie must have taken off her communicator ... or whoever took it away from her uniform, Jack thought to himself while paying attention to his surroundings.

Even though Jack had taken great care, he oversaw the Norvegian science officer, Lt. JG. Petterson, who immediately took cover when he had spotted Lt. Cmdr. Bauer approaching the sensor pod room. Petterson was still holding McKenzie's communicator in his handpalm while he had it's possessor held roughly in his other arm. He knew he'd have to put the communicator to a safe location, otherwise he'd be discovered sooner than he wanted. McKenzie was still unconscious, so she didn't know she had been captured by Petterson.

While Petterson was in safe cover, holding McKenzie captive, Bauer checked the sensor pod room. Logically, he couldn't find neither McKenzie nor her communicator. "Damn it!" Jack barked. He had seen enough of it and decided to alert the starbase commander who was still talking to Commander Carter in his office. While talking, he readied his phaser and was prepared for anything or anyone.

On the second level, a voice silently told another apparently present person: "Oh shit, it's Bauer. Let's retreat for now."

Cris Carter - May 24, 2009 04:47 PM (GMT)
CO's Office, Starbase 11

Carter was having some chit-chat with Captain Wright. They discussed the important things and precedures for one entire hour, and Carter was about to leave.

Carter: "Thanks for the coffee, Captain. It was nice talking to you, but I have to..."

Suddenly he was interrupted by a comm transmission.

Bauer: :hail: "Bauer to Captain Wright, we have a security breach in the sensor pod maintance room!"

Both Carter and Wright bolted up from their seats. Wright responded with a broadcast

Wright: :hail: "Security to sensor pod maintance!"

After closing the channel, Wright asked...

Wright: "What's going on up there?"
Carter: "Let's find it out",

Carter replied and headed for the exit, Wright following him.

Captain Wright and Commander Carter had reached the maintance room of the sensor pods. Some security officers were already there. Suddenly, Jack Bauer appeared from the upper maintenance part.

Bauer: "We were too late",

Bauer said with an angered sounding voice. Captain Wright was still looking confused.

Wright: "What happened here?"

He asked Bauer while the tactical specialist was climbing down the ladder steps.

As Robertson studied the console layout, the console started... Beeping, a red indicator on his left started flashing at the same time. Robertson looked at the panel and noticed that it was inscribed with the words 'security breach', taking into account that no on board alarm has gone off he presumed it was on the Starbase and quickly proceeded to contact them, tapping his communicator Robertson spoke out "Robertson to Starbase 11, whats going on over there? I'm reading a security breach" a gruff voice, from a man probably over sixty replied "We have some problems in the sensor pod room, your commanders already down there" Robertson pondered his next move for a moment, but quickly made his decision "I'm beaming over there now, Robertson out". Robertson tapped his communicator once more to close the channel and walked briskly back over to the turbolift. "Deck Six, transporter room".

Deck 6

The turbolift doors opened, Robertson walked briskly out and almost ran down the corridor, the transporter room doors parted for him as soon as he stood in front of them and he tapped in his access code to open the equipment locker beside the door, he took out a holster belt, a tricorder and a phaser, moving behind the transporter console he set the coordinates then put the system on a ten second delay before jogging up onto the transporter pad, he strapped the belt around his waist and holstered the equipment just in time to be able to stand straight as the transporter beam dematerialized him.

Darren Ramsey - May 25, 2009 01:03 PM (GMT)
Rematrialising on the Minnesota transporter padd, Ramsey stepped off and looked around. The Transporter chief looked up and gave him a polite nod, Ramsey walked over and nodded back in a greeting smiling slightly

"Im Lt Ramsey, Chief Engineering officer, just been transfered from the Oydessy"

The transporter Chief nodded

"Welcome sir, Cmdr Carter is busy with a situation on Starbase 11, but ill be happy to contact the Bridge and let them know you are here, and let Captain Carter know you are on ship, your belongings have also been beamed to your quarters"

Ramsey nodded smiling

"Thanks Chief, well then..best go take a look at Engineering"

Ramsey gave the transporter chief another polite nod and stepped out the transporter room, walking down the corridor he headed to the turbolift and proceeded to Engineering.

Katheryn Smith - May 30, 2009 10:21 AM (GMT)
Deck 6, Transporter Room 1

Katheryn walked into the transporter room and gave a joyful look to the Transporter staff

Katheryn: "Ensign, are our passengers ready for transport?"

Transporter Chief: "Aye Commander, our passengers are ready for transport."

Katheryn: "Energize Chief"

Ambassador Winter and his aid beamed aboard and greeted the XO

Ambassador Winter: "Ah Commander good to see you again.....I can remember when you were up to my knees"

Katheryn gave a small giggle then carried on with her duty

Katheryn: "Ambassador if you would"

Katheryn motions to the door. As the Ambassador and the Executive Officer walked out they walked down sevral corridors before coming to the turbolift labeled "turbo lift 4". As they approached the door wooshed open and the Ambassador walked in first. Katheryn had a big breath then said

Katheryn: "Deck 1"

Katheryn and the Ambassador had a quick chat before the doors reopened on the bridge.

Katheryn: "Ambassador may I introduce you to Commander Cris Carter, My commanding Officer"
